2019 National and International Championships

The  XVII International Wayfarer Championship will take place from 20 to the 26th July 2019 (racing 22-26th) and will be hosted by Greystones Sailing Club in Ireland.

Greystones SC is a thriving, family club located just 25km south of Dublin on the Irish East coast in the County of Wicklow.  Established in 1968 and originally located on the North Beach, the club moved to it's new premises within the impressive new Greystones  Harbour in June  2016. . The club has a wide range of excellent facilities: including a large dinghy park, large changing rooms, 2 slipways and a well-appointed clubhouse and bar.

With the combination of the Irish and UK National championships and the International Championship we are expecting a big turnout and a lot of fun both on and off the water with Gold, Silver and Bronze fleets to cater for all abilities and marques of Wayfarer.

There will be complementary tea, Coffee and breakfast buns available at the club each morning and a hot or cold cuppa to greet you on return from racing.

Free lunch making ingredients will also be available where participants can make their own lunch for taking out on the water.

Plenty of socials are planned throughout the week so bring your dancing shoes, pub quiz knowledge and best party piece.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Small but Mighty!

Congratulations to Poppy Loosley age 9 who completed her RYA junior stage 4 at Polkerris Beach in extreme sailing conditions last November. Poppy is the smallest person to have completed stage 4 at Polkerris Beach and not only that; she crowned her wonderful achievement by also becoming the smallest person ever to right a Wayfarer MKIV without assistance - well done Poppy! way to go girl!
